Stability of untransformed ferrite in 10Cr ODS steel

چکیده

The development of generation IV nuclear reactor requires improvements in structural and cladding materials. Oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) steels are promising candidates because improved creep properties. Two main families ODS known, the first one is martensitic steel with a full reverse ferrite to austenite phase transformation at high temperatures. second ferritic matrix whatever temperature. Previous papers mention existence untransformed (UF) temperature very particular [S. Ukai 2009, M. Yamamoto 2010, T. Yamashiro 2016, A. Durand 2021]. UF unexpected according experimental observation thermodynamic calculations non-strengthened materials (NR) same chemical composition. This particularly interesting way improve resistance grades [H. Sakasegawa 2008, 2021] then conciliates benefits both grades. present study focused on thermal stability 10 wt% Cr. Effects heat treatments holding times temperatures studied by considering fraction evolution microstructural changes. decrease correlated nano-oxides density coupled increase their size. also affected treatments. Those appear as mix equivalent ones.

Transformation texture of allotriomorphic ferrite in steel

Many aspects of the crystallographic texture which develops when austenite transforms into martensite or bainite are well established because the process by which the parent lattice is transformed into that of the product is mathematically defined. This is not the case when the ferrite forms by a reconstructive mechanism. The allotriomorphic ferrite nucleates heterogeneously at austenite grain ...

Stabilisation of ferrite in hot rolled d-TRIP steel

A steel has recently been designed to benefit from the deformation induced transformation of retained austenite present in association with bainitic ferrite. It has as its major microstructural component, dendrites of d-ferrite introduced during solidification. The d-ferrite replaces the allotriomorphic ferrite present in conventional alloys of this kind. The authors examine here the stability ...

Room temperature texturing of austenite/ferrite steel by electropulsing

The work reports an experimental observation on crystal rotation in a duplex (austenite + ferrite) steel induced by the electropulsing treatment at ambient temperature, while the temperature rising due to ohmic heating in the treatment was negligible. The results demonstrate that electric current pulses are able to dissolve the initial material's texture that has been formed in prior thermomech...

non-linear study of various slit shear walls in steel structures

seismic retrofit strategies have been developed in the past few decades following the introduction of new seismic provisions and the availability of advanced materials and methods. it can be observed that new approaches to deal with more lateral forces are more innovative and more energy absorbent. in line with this, there is a growing trend toward the use of steel shear walls as a system with ...

Phase-Separation, Partitioning and Precipitation in MA956, an ODS Ferritic Stainless Steel

The behaviours of as-received and recrystallised (homogenised) MA 956, an Al-containing Cr-rich ferritic stainless steel, aged at 475 "C for up to 2900 hours have been investigated. Atom probe microanalysis of the decomposition products revealed that A1 did not partition significantly to the Fe-rich phase after =600 hours ageing, contrary to thermodynamic predictions. Ageing to 2900 hours, howe...
